Viewing Trading Signals

The Signals page allows you to review trading opportunities generated by the system before placing trades in either your live or paper trading account.

Subscription Required: Executing trades through the platform requires an active Trial, Standard, or Premium subscription. Users without an active subscription may view information but will not be able to place trades through the system.

Accessing the Signals Page

Navigate to the Signals page to view the latest trading opportunities generated by the platform.

Selecting an Account

At the top of the page, you will find an account selection dropdown.

This dropdown allows you to choose which OANDA account will receive any trades that you submit:

  • Live Trading Account
  • Paper (Practice) Trading Account

Before executing trades, verify that the correct account has been selected.

Position Sizing Methods

The platform supports two different methods for calculating position size.

% of NAV (Net Asset Value)

This option allocates a percentage of your account value to each selected trade. For example, if your account value is $10,000 and you choose 5%, the system will calculate trade sizes based on approximately $500 of account value.

Absolute Units

This option allows you to specify the exact number of units that should be traded regardless of account size.

After selecting a sizing method, provide either the desired percentage or the desired number of units that should be allocated to each trade.

Understanding Trading Signals

The table on the Signals page displays the currency pairs currently recommended by the system.

Each signal includes a recommended trade direction together with supporting prediction data generated by the platform.

Trades may only be placed in the direction recommended by the system. The platform does not permit submitting trades in the opposite direction of a signal.

Signal Information

The signal grid includes information such as:

  • Currency Pair
  • Recommended Trade Direction
  • Predicted Forward Value
  • Confidence Intervals
  • Additional model outputs and analytics

Predicted Forwards

Predicted forward values indicate the expected market direction generated by the forecasting models.

  • Positive Forward Values are generally associated with long (buy) trade opportunities.
